Diamond Baskerville, aka “Diamond B”is known for her powerful, soulful, anointed, inspirational and unique voice. Her style of music is a mixture of Traditional Gospel, Rhythm & Praise and Jazz. She is a vocalist, songwriter and actress. From 2009 to 2010, Diamond was the world-wide face for the famous New York “Apollo Theater” Amateur Night.
Diamond was born in Philadelphia, PA, but resides in Delaware. This 21 year old was born the third child out of seven. Diamond has been involved with music and drama since she was 6 years old. At a young age, Diamond’s parents always knew she was destined to sing and act professionally, because she would talk-sing every word and sentence that came out of her mouth, and she loved imitating various musicals, music videos, movies, singers and comedians.
Currently, Diamond is working on her CD. She has several singles and a remix completed. Her songs are hot, upbeat, electricifying, soulful, rich, uplifting, encouraging and full of passion. |
Diamond loves singing and using her musical gift to minister and praise Christ. Her songs make a bold statement about the goodness of Christ and what He will do for His People.
Diamond has performed with the Multi-Platinum, five time Grammy Award winner, Donna Summer; Stella and Grammy Award winner DaTruth; International Gospel Hip-Hop Artist TWyse, and a host of other local and international artist. Diamond has won numerous vocal competitions, performed lead roles in various musical productions and has performed for various record companies over the years. In September 2010, Diamond was cast as one of the singers for the musical production called, “A Gate Called Straight” which Stephanie Mills directed, and in January 2011, Diamond opened up for Marvin Sapp’s Concert.
In addition to her exceptional vocal talent, Diamond is an accomplished actress. By positioning herself and diligently working with Shirley Faison, New York talent agent with Carson-Adler Agency, Inc., she has performed in several theatrical productions as the lead actress. She has also participated in movies, commercials, television auditions and casting calls for major and minor roles through the years, including the very popular TV sitcom, “Glee.”
With strong ties to the community, Diamond was a member of the International Choir, “Fruits of The Spirit”. She is one of the lead vocalists for “The Priesthood of Praise” at the Resurrection Center Church where she is the Assistant Director for the “Heritage Youth Choir” located in Wilmington, Delaware. In addition, she sings background for “TWyse”, she is a teacher assistant, a Board Member of WRB Cancer Network, and vivid volunteer for cancer patients, survivors, and their family.
Diamond is a beautiful young lady that loves her Savior, has an awesome spirit, loves singing and acting, as well as, making others laugh.
